Eggs

Our laying Hens are pasture raised in mobile chicken tractors; coops on wheels. We move the chickens around to fresh pasture as needed where they can eat grass and bugs and express their inner chicken-ness. They are happy, cooing girls!

They are fed certified non-GMO grain that is tested for herbicides and pesticides as well. It is free of chemicals, but not certified organic, kind of like us. The gals also eat lots of greenery and bugs, of course, and plenty of veggies from the garden too.

Pastured eggs are highly nutritious. They are higher in Vitamin A, E and Omega-3s than eggs that come from caged birds. These eggs have a rich, creamy, bright orange yolk full of beta carotene, vitamins and minerals. The grass and bugs make the eggs beautiful and make the chickens happy and healthy!

As per Florida law, our eggs are sold under a Master Feed License, and labeled ‘for pet (dog & cat) consumption only.’

Milk

High quality milk starts with healthy cows. Our cows are a big part of a farm-wide rotational grazing system. We move them onto fresh pasture constantly to mimic natural migratory ruminant grazing patterns and to ensure the health of the animals and the grass. The ladies (+ Nick the bull) are treated with love, respect and the highest regard for their health and well being. We practice milk sharing, a systems where calves enjoy their natural right and joy of being with and nursing from their mothers. Calves and cows that stay together are healthier & happier, which for us is the most important thing. We harvest milk for our use and let the calf suckle the rest. If you’re looking for milk that you can feel good about, you’ve found it.

Milk shares are a perfect compliment to our Veggie Share. The milk for CSA members will be packaged in glass quart jars that will need to be returned each week. You will be charged a $5 jar deposit at the first distribution that you’ll get back if you faithfully return your jars.

Returned jars must be extremely clean. We will not take back dirty jars or jars that we did not distribute in the first place. All jars are washed and sanitized before they are re-filled.

As per Florida law, our milk is sold under a Master Feed License, and labeled ‘for pet (dog & cat) consumption only.’
